No Organics Left Behind

The mission of the No Organics Left Behind Committee is to educate the community about the environmental and financial benefits of organics recycling and seek ways to make composting accessible to all residents, businesses, and institutions. The Committee will promote the removal of organic waste from the waste stream and encourage the community to compost organic waste at a municipal transfer station and/or at home. 

Objectives

1. Provide community education and outreach and be a resource to help residents, businesses, institutions, and officials in San Mateo County Jurisdictions about the benefits and value of organic waste recycling and reduction. Serving as a resource may entail creating relevant educational materials such as brochures, & flyers, programming, events, etc.

2. Advise on organic waste recycling programs and projects that may reduce the amount of solid waste the community generates and therefore reduce the amount of carbon and methane the community produces, as needed.

3. Offer best practice guidelines on ways to reduce the amount of organic waste at municipal, residential, and school properties.
